The Hawaii Department of Public Safety is the department that will ensure that the correctional facilities within the state are operating as efficiently as they should be. They oversee all the inmates in a state facility. These inmates are their property.
All inmates within a state facility will be treated with the utmost respect that they deserve. These inmates will also be provided with the necessary programs, tools, and resources they need for as long as the DSP has custody of them. It does not matter if they are imprisoned or dealing with an officer (parole or probation) on the outside of the facilities.
