Inmate Search
There are two ways you can search for an inmate. You will need to get to the Charleston City Jail website to do your search. From there you will be able to search for an inmate by their first and last name. You can also search for an inmate by one of the following criteria:

Sending a Mail
Inmates at Charleston City Jail are allowed to send and receive as many letters as they like. Be sure that the inmate’s number and the housing location is on the envelope. All mail gets inspected before the inmate gets to open it. Any mail that is offensive or a threat to safety and security will be returned to the sender.

Visiting Rules
All inmates at Charleston City Jail are allowed to have one visitation a week. However, trustees are allowed to have two visitations a week. You will need to schedule your visitation anywhere from 24 hours to 1 week ahead of time.
Video visitations are allowed but will cost you $15.00 and will last 30 minutes. You will want to be set up and ready for the video visitation several minutes before the visitation starts.
