Sending a Mail
At the Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center inmates can receive written letters from their friends and family. These letters must be 12”x16” or smaller.
Inmates cannot receive a number of things through the mail which incudes stamps, writing paper, pencils, pens and envelopes. Through the commissary these items are available for the inmates to purchase. These items will be disposed if they are sent to an inmate.

Phone Calls
Inmates at Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center are able to make free phone calls when they are in the booking process. There is a telephone supplied in every cell. The inmates can use their telephone to call to arrange bail, call their legal counsel and to call home. All local calls are free. Inmates will be required to make a collect call for any long distance phone calls.
All calls will be collect calls when inmates are in general population. Inmates can only call those who possess a landline. You will not be able to receive a collect call from a cell phone. The individual receiving the collect call is responsible for any charges from the collect call.
Three-way calls, call forwarding and other calling features are not permitted for the inmates. The call will be terminated immediately if an inmate is found using these features. Disciplinary action will be taken against the inmate.
Visiting Rules
In the Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center the inmates can receive visitors. Thirty minutes before visiting hours begin visitors need to sign up. After 8:30pm there will be no visitors allowed.
Visitors can't be previous Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center inmates within the last 6 months.
One 30-minute visit every day is permitted for every inmate in good standing. The visit can include 2 adults and 2 children. Children are considered under the age of 17. During the visit all children will be required to stay with their legal guardian.
Inmates at Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center can't have more than 3 visits per calendar week. Law enforcement, attorney or professional visits do not include these visits.
