Inmate Search

On their website, the Monona County Jail has a public inmate list. These records can be searched by the inmate's last name or by date confined. However, all lists are for people currently serving time in the Monona County Jail. 

When doing a successful inmate search you will be able to see the inmate’s personal identifying information, along with their mugshot, what agency arrested them, Where they got arrested and what charges they are on.

Sending a Mail

Monona County Jail inmates are allowed to receive letters. If you want to send a letter to an inmate you will have to send it to the address listed below:

Make sure you put your return address on the envelope before sending it. Stamps or envelopes are not allowed to be sent with your letters. These items will be either thrown away or returned to you if they are sent. 

Inmates at the Monona County Jail are allowed to get books, magazines and newspapers in the mail. If you would like to send an inmate any of these items, make sure you have them sent directly from the book store or publisher to the jail. All books will need to be new and paperback. Used and hardcover books are not allowed to be sent to the jail. 

Sending Money

If you would like to fund an inmate's commissary account, you can do so by sending money orders via US Mail. 

There is a kiosk in the Monona County Jail lobby that you can use to deposit funds into their account.  The kiosk in the lobby only accepts cash, at this current time. However, there is a service fee of $2.50 per transaction to use this service. The kiosk is available to use 24 hours a day.

Phone Calls

Paytel Communication contracts with the Monona County Jail for their phone services. Inmates at the Monona County Jail access these phones easily. These phones are payphones. Inmates are allowed to make phone calls, however, they are not allowed to receive calls. 

All phone calls at the Monona County Jail are monitored and recorded. Three-way calling is prohibited for the inmates to use. Inmates are only allowed to 15-minutes phone calls. The individual receiving the collect call is the one responsible for any fees associated with the collect call. 

Visiting Rules

The Monona County Jail visitations are Monday through Friday from 7pm to 8pm. 

On the inmates approved visitor sheet an adult must be listed. You will need to show your government ID before visiting. Visitations are only for adults (18 and up). 

Visitations are set up by each pod day. Inmates are allowed to have visitors on their pod day.
