The Bath County Jail has its jail roster open to the general public by the Bath County Sheriff's Department. This jail database can be searched by the inmates first name, last name as well as their booking number.

Sending a Mail

The Bath County Jail uses Smart Jail Mail for the inmates messaging service. There are kiosks in the inmates housing units that Smart Jail Mail is used for. Inmates use this service to send messages to their friends and family. This system is used to that the Bath County Jail can make sure the inmates, staff, and their families are safe and secure. 

Inmates are not allowed to write a written letter using pen and paper. Any and all letters that are sent will need to be sent through Smart Jail Mail. 

The only way you can keep in touch with an inmate if you don't have a computer is if you send them letters in the mail to the address listed below.

In order for the inmates to view the letters, the letters will have to go through the kiosk. The inmates will not get your actual written letter. In order for the letter to get to the correct inmate, you will need to make sure you write the inmate’s name and their ID number as well as your return address.

Sending Money

There are 4 different ways you can fund an inmate's account in the Bath County Jail.

Online

At Access Corrections you will be able to fund an inmate's account. When you use this service the funds are instantly deposited into an inmate's account 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. However, there is a charge to use this service.

By Phone

By calling 606-674-2713 you will be able to deposit funds into an inmate's account between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday if you are not able to use a computer. However, there is a charge to use this service. 

In Person

At the lobbies of the jail, there are kiosks that you are able to deposit funds into an inmate's account using your debit card, credit card, or cash. There is a charge to use this service as well.

Depositing funds into an inmate's account this way is free, however, it does take a little bit longer than the other methods.

Phone Calls

For their phone services, the Bath County Jail uses Securus Technologies. Inmates are permitted to only making collect calls.

Inmates are not allowed to get any phone calls. In order for them to call you, you will need to create an account. You will be able to create an account by calling 844-6591 or by going online.

Visiting Rules

The Bath County Jail inmates are allowed to get visitors using the Securus video visitation system, which is a non-contact visitation. You and the inmate will only be able to see each other on a screen. The Bath County Jail uses this system to make sure inmates, family members, friends, and the prison staff stay safe and secure. 

There is a daily visitation schedule. There is no visitations on Thanksgiving or Christmas. 

You will need to show a government ID before you are allowed to visit. Minors will need to stay with their legal guardian. Minors will need to show a copy of their birth certificate. The Department of Vital Statistics is where you will be able to get birth certificates.

There is a dress code that visitors must follow. If you do not follow all of the visitation rules, you will not be able to visit.

Inmates are allowed to have two 1-hour visits each week from their family and friends.
