Sending a Mail

The Owen County Jail inmates are allowed to get written letters in the mail from their family and friends. All letters that are sent to the jail are checked by the jail employees before they are handed out to the inmates.

You are not allowed to send inmates in the Owen County Jail packages. They will be sent back to the sender if they are sent. Make sure to write your return address on mail before sending it to the Owen County Jail.

Sending Money

The Owen County Jail inmates will need money in their accounts in order to make purchases from the commissary.

Phone Calls

The Owen County Jail inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their family and friends. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls. The call will get terminated as soon as the 15-minutes is over.  

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are forbidden for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any of these features the call will get disconnected and disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate. 

The Owen County Jail inmates are allowed to only make collect phone calls. You will only be able to receive a collect call from an inmate from a landline phone. However, you will not be able to receive any collect calls from a mobile phone. The individual receiving the collect call is the one responsible for and all fees associated with the collect calls. The Owen County Jail is not accountable for any and all charges associated with the collect calls.  

Visiting Rules

Each calendar week the Owen County Jail inmates are allowed to have 2 1-hour visits. Three people including children can consist of each visit.

You will need to schedule your visit at least 24-hours in advance. Make sure to leave all your personal belongings in your vehicle. Personal belongings are not permitted in the visitation area. 

Before you will be allowed in the visitation area you will need to show either your driver’s license, state identification card, or passport. Children under the age of 18 will be allowed to visit, however, they will be required to stay with their legal guardian.

For each calendar week inmates in the Owen County Jail are allowed to have 2 1-hour visits. These visits consist of up to 3 people including children.
