The Louisiana Department of Corrections has a long history, just like many other Department of Corrections. For as long as anyone can remember, the metro and town areas that call Louisiana home always had prisons, city jails, and even state offices.

However, throughout the years, you should always keep in mind that the state of Louisiana is always looking to improve upon their corrections department. That is one of their main priorities.

How can the Louisiana Department of Corrections keep improving upon their department? They can do this by listening to the people who are running the facilities, the offenders, and looking at previous reports from the years that passed.

All employees that get hired on to the department will go through a rigorous interview process and if they get selected, they will have to go through training before they can start officially working. Once they get out of training then they will get on the job training with someone higher up from them.
