Sending a Mail

Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center inmates can send and receive an unlimited amount of mail. Inmates are not allowed to send mail to each other, however. If you wish to send mail or a package to an inmate, you will need to know their name, ID number, and which facility they are located.

All mail is opened and inspected for contraband at Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center. Legal mail may not be read, and can only be opened in the presence of an inmate.

You can send up to three books at a time to an inmate, but they must be new paperback books. The books cannot contain nudity or describe the manufacture of alcohol, drugs, or weapons.

4. Send up to $300 in a Postal Money Order, including the inmate’s name and ID number in the memo field. Print and fill out an Missouri inmate money order deposit slip, and send the money order to the following address:

Phone Calls

You can make outgoing calls or prepaid calls, and this requires having a GTL Account. You can also use GTL if the cell phone is the only way in which you can communicate with an inmate. Inmates at at Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center can never receive an incoming call.

Every 120 days, an inmate can make changes to their telephone list.

Visiting Rules

1. General population at Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center have visiting hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays. The visiting hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM.

2. Protective custody inmates have visits on Mondays and the days after state holidays. Their visiting hours are 10 AM to 4 PM on these days.
