Sending a Mail

The Lake County Jail inmates are allowed to get written letters from their family and friends. Drawings, signs, or symbols are not permitted to be on these letters. If this policy is not kept the letter will get thrown away. Before sending your letters make sure you write a return address on the envelope.  

Laminated mail and mail without a return address is not accepted.

The jail employees examine all mail that comes into the jail. Any legal mail is inspected in front of the employees.

Sending Money

The Lake County Jail inmates will need funds to make purchases items at the commissary.

You can bring cash to the lobby of the Lake County Jail during their normal business hours if you would like to fund an inmates account. A Cashier's check or money order can be sent to the jail as well. 

The Touch Pay kiosk in the main lobby can be used to fund an inmate's account as well. Cash, credit and debit card payments are accepted at the kiosk. 

You will not be able to use a personal check to fund an inmate's account. 

Phone Calls

The Lake County Jail inmates in the general population are allowed to get collect calls. You will only be able to receive a collect call if you have a landline. You will not be able to receive any collect calls from a cell phone. The individual receiving these collect calls is the one responsible for any and all fees that are associated with the collect calls. The Lake County Jail is not accountable for any of the charges from the collect calls.

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are not permitted for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any of these features the call will be disconnected right away. Disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate as well. 

Visiting Rules

The Lake County Jail inmates are allowed to have visitors. Make sure to make an appointment if you are visiting on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Make sure to call 541-947-4926 between Monday through Friday from 8am to 3:45pm if you would like to make an appointment to visit an inmate.

Inmates that are in good standing are allowed visitations. Visitations are not allowed for inmates in disciplinary action. To see if an inmate is allowed to have visitations you will need to call the Lake County Jail.
