You will not be allowed in the visitation area if you are wearing any of the forbidden clothing. You will not be allowed to go in the visitation area if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol as well. The jail staff can refuse a visitation for any reason without notice.

Phone calls

The Custer County Jail inmates are not allowed to get phone calls from their family or friends. During phone time inmates are allowed to make phone calls to their family and friends. The inmates are limited to 15-minute phone calls. The call will get terminated as soon as the 15-minutes is over.  

Calling features such as three-way calling and call forwarding are forbidden for the inmates to use. If an inmate is caught using any of these features the call will get disconnected and disciplinary action will be taken up against the inmate. 

The Custer County Jail inmates are allowed to only make collect phone calls. You will only be able to receive a collect call from an inmate from a landline phone. However, you will not be able to receive any collect calls from a mobile phone. The individual receiving the collect call is the one responsible for and all fees associated with the collect calls. The Custer County Jail is not accountable for any and all charges associated with the collect calls.  

Sending mail

The Custer County Jail inmates are allowed to get written letters in the mail from their family and friends. All letters that are sent to the jail are checked by the jail employees before they are handed out to the inmates.    

The jail employees are looking for items that are not allowed to be sent to the jail. If any forbidden items or offensive letters are sent to the jail, the jail staff will either throw them out or send items back to the sender.
