Many people in the state of Vermont do not believe that their Department of Corrections is huge. But, the Vermont Department of Corrections is one of the biggest divisions in their entire state government. That means a lot when you think about it.
This department must undergo a lot in their day to day operations, if you really want to know. They are liable for a lot of people. Not just the people who have been convicted of the crime. I am talking about the people that they hire. The Department of Corrections is one of the biggest employers within the state as well. Which is a great thing for the residents as it creates many jobs and less people on welfare.
When an inmate is brought into the Vermont Department of Corrections, they will be first classified prior to being put into a facility that will fit his or her needs.
