The Oregon Department of Corrections was finally put into the state government in June of 1987. It took a while before the state of Oregon to finally have their Department of Corrections like every other state in America.

Since the Department of Corrections was finally formed, you should note that the Department of Corrections has not slowed down. You will see them working every single day. Their officers do not get a break. They are manning the jails, programs, and offices daily. You should also know that they are always adding new features, such as safety, programs, and what not as well.
The Department of Corrections in Oregon is also hiring some of the best of the best officers to help man their facilities. They are always training and learning about the new methods to do things as well since they handle over 14,000 detainees.
